Because of this, the new feature is also compatible with crypto mail storage. If it is activated, all data within the account is encrypted with your password. Therefore, if crypto mail storage is activated, you access the new attachment browser within the privacy of your own encrypted account. Even we as the provider do not have access to your data.

Tips & troubleshooting

I accidentally deleted an attachment. What do I do now?

You cannot undo the deletion of an attachment. In certain situations a backup can restore the data.

Can I also download or delete multiple attachments at once?

No. It’s not currently possible.

Does the attachment browser display attachments from end-to-end encrypted emails?

No. You can only decrypt an end-to-end encrypted email locally on your computer. Posteo does not have access to the contents of an encrypted email. Because of this, we can not display such attachments.

Can I sort attachments by file size or subject?

No. Sorting is always by date (from recent to oldest). However, with the help of quick filters and the search bar, you can refine the list to your desire.
