How do I deactivate additional email account protection?

If you no longer wish to use additional email account protection because, for example, you would like to retrieve emails on a smartphone, you can deactivate it in the settings of your account.

Deactivating additional email account protection

To deactivate additional email account protection, first log in to your account at Then, proceed as follows:

  1. Click Settings in the webmail interface
  2. Click My account.
  3. Click Change password.

  1. Under “Additional email account protection for webmail users”, enter your Posteo password.
  2. Click Deactivate additional email account protection.

Additional email account protection is now deactivated. You can now access your account with POP3 or IMAP once again.
