E-Mail-Verschlüsselung im Browser mit Mailvelope

Liebe Posteo-Nutzer,
seit einigen Tagen ist eine neue Version des Verschlüsselungs-Add-ons Mailvelope (für Firefox und Chrome) verfügbar. In der neuen Version ist es für Posteo bereits vorkonfiguriert.
Dadurch ist es nun komfortabel möglich, die Inhalte einzelner E-Mails im Posteo-Webmailer mit OpenPGP zu verschlüsseln.
Anhänge können mit dem Add-on nicht verschlüsselt werden. Mailvelope ist besonders interessant für alle, die Posteo bevorzugt im Webmailer nutzen und ihre E-Mails dort mit einer Ende-zu-Ende-Verschlüsselung absichern möchten. Mailvelope ist quelloffen (Open Source): Der Programmcode des Add-ons ist einsehbar und basiert auf offenen Standards.
In der Posteo-Hilfe im Bereich “Webmail” finden Sie eine Anleitung, wie Sie das Add-on in Ihrem Browser (Firefox oder Chrome) installieren können – und wie das Verschlüsseln mit Mailvelope funktioniert. Andere Browser, wie z.B. Safari oder den Internet Explorer, unterstützt Mailvelope bisher nicht. Sollten Sie Probleme beim Verwenden von Mailvelope oder Fragen zu dem Verschlüsselungs-Add-on haben, wenden Sie sich bitte an den Mailvelope-Support.

Email encryption in your browser with Mailvelope

A few days ago, a new version of the encryption add-on Mailvelope (available for Firefox and Chrome) was released. The new version is preconfigured to work with Posteo.
Using the add-on, it is now possible to easily encrypt the content of emails using OpenPGP within the Posteo webmail interface. You can also sign your emails, but attachments can not be encrypted using the add-on. Mailvelope is especially interesting for all who prefer to use the Posteo webmail interface and who would like to secure their emails with end-to-end encryption. Mailvelope is open source: The program code for the add-on is visible and based on open standards.
In the Posteo help section “Webmail”, you can find instructions on how to install the add-on in Firefox or Chrome and how encryption using Mailvelope works. Other browsers such as Safari or Internet Explorer do not yet support Mailvelope. If you encounter problems using Mailvelope or have questions about the add-on, please contact Mailvelope support.
